Vinay Kapoor harbours over 9 years of experience in Latin dancing. His journey in dance began as a child, trying various dance styles including Bollywood and breakdancing and has continued on to recent years, most notably achieving his Masters in Performance Practices. He entered the exotic world of Salsa, Bachata and Jive in 2013 and as he explored further, he found his true calling in Bachata Fusion.

A wanderer at heart - he has travelled to Spain, France, Germany, Dubai and Italy to intricately explore Sensual Bachata with renowned teachers. After consistently being approached for private lessons when travelling he took the decision to establish his own dance academy in his home city of Mumbai in 2019. Following on from this, Vinay has been invited to collaborate with numerous internationally known Bachata artists for workshops, regular classes and now moving into congresses as well.

With Lights, Camera…Bachata! he now begins his journey to share his own style of Bachata Fusion here in the UK, helping individuals take their potential to a new level.

Hugo's dancing journey began in Toronto, Canada. He has been a Ballroom/Latin American dancer for the last 19 years. He has earned many top Canadian titles in his competitive career.

INSTRUCTOR

Sharaf Malik is a professional dancer, choreographer, and teacher based in Toronto, Canada. Dancing has been part of Sharaf’s life since she was a little girl growing up in Baku, Azerbaijan. She first began her training with classical ballet and Azeri folk.

Sharaf discovered her passion for Latin and Ballroom dancing, once she moved to Canada, as a young teenager. Through out the years she continued to push her creative boundaries by adding Hip-Hop/Heals, Salsa, and Bachata to her repertoire. She has trained with some of the best dancers and coaches in the world, and has competed and performed at various events in Canada and internationally.

Currently Sharaf is an active member of two professional salsa/bachata dance teams and continuous to teach in some of the most well-known dance studios/events in Toronto.

Sharaf is grateful for being able to continue doing what she loves most, and is excited for future projects with Vinay.

My name is Kat and I am a Toronto based Artist known for my Sensual and Fusion Bachata Style. I was born and raised in Ecuador and as any kid that has grown in Latin America, I had the privilege to be surrounded by Latin music, dance and culture from an early age.

My dance journey started with Contemporary and Ballet, then, the bond with my culture influenced me to explore the beauty of different Latin dance styles. More than 6 years ago, I started training in Salsa and Traditional Bachata. However, as soon as I discovered Sensual and Fusion Bachata, I fell in love with their beauty and the freedom they gave me.

Being able to incorporate different dance forms such as Contemporary, Kizomba and Zouk in my dance style, is what makes Bachata so special to me. Because it challenges my creativity and understanding of art. But most importantly, it allows me to be more appreciative of my own capability and self worth.
